Why Report?

Involving others, even when no threat is present, connects individuals with professionals who can provide support and resources. Texas A&M University’s proactive reporting system allows community members to submit concerns, which are reviewed by professionals who follow up with the submitter or the individual of concern to offer assistance and resources.

Reporting Options

Concerns can be submitted using either the online form or through the SMS-based system powered by RealResponse. Both options are available to the campus community. However, individuals who wish to remain anonymous should use the RealResponse option. RealResponse ensures full anonymity by encrypting your message and keeping your phone number confidential, while still allowing our teams to follow up if more information is needed.

In most cases, even if you choose to include your contact information through the online form, your identity can be kept confidential if outreach to the individual of concern is necessary.

Now What?

Once a Tell Somebody report is submitted, it is reviewed by a triage team that determines the most appropriate next steps. You may receive a notification confirming receipt of your report and informing you that a team member is following up.In some cases, the team may need additional information to best support the individual of concern. If so, you may be contacted via phone, text, or email—please don’t be alarmed if you hear from us.
If you submitted your concern through the SMS-based RealResponse system, your identity and phone number remain anonymous unless you choose to disclose. However, RealResponse does allow our team to communicate with you via secure text messaging. This dialogue helps ensure the most appropriate and supportive action is taken.
